Joe + Amanda | Salt River | Engagement Session
“You know when you’re in love when you can’t fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.”
I remember the exact conversation when we met Joe + Amanda at the Phoenix wedding expo. “So how did you propose”. Grinning from ear to ear Amanda excitedly explained “he rented out a MOVIE THEATER to propose and on top of that our families were hiding and were able to witness it all!”
It’s not everyday you hear a story like like this so it’s no surprise we continually remember them as our Movie Theater Rockstars!
I began to try and describe the story in my own words and thought, “silly me I will just ask them to give us all the special little details” So here it is. Joe’s epic proposal that still has us in awe.
“On November 16th, 2017, I entered a movie theater with my sister thinking I was going to be watching Daddy’s Home 2. We were late to the movie, but the previews were still playing, so I got up and left briefly, not knowing I was causing a special someone anxiety in the back. When the featured film started, she quickly realized it was not a Will Ferrell comedy, rather a Finger Guns Production, meaning a movie made by Joe. I was frozen in my seat, thinking I knew what was happening. Joe’s first speaking part in the movie was him telling his brother that he was going to ask me to marry him. Amanda broke out in tears instantly. The clever movie went on for about 18 minutes where Joe went around to his and my family members, telling them that he will be asking me to marry him. Each family member had a special scene, whether it be an inside joke with the family, or just playing up on one of Amanda’s interests (ex: grandparents acting out characters and lines from my favorite show: The Office). At the end of the movie, Joe came to me, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him. Of course I said yes! I then realized that all of our family was hiding in the back of the theater and had come out to celebrate with us. There was so much ugly crying (on my part) but it was all for a very happy reason.
Joe had this planned for about a year, but it took about 2 or 3 months to have everything filmed and edited (thanks to Tony Baril Media). “

Is that crazy or what?! I think we can all agree this image will be one they cherish for the rest of their live. It will forever serve as a window back to when their journey began!
For their engagement session we revisited one of our favorite locations: Salt River! The beautiful evening was eclipsed by their passionate love for each other. As amazing as these pictures are, knowing the person each of these two people are, makes the pictures extraordinary.
